New Moda Fabric Lines + My Sew Quilty Life = Beautiful Pattern Mockups!

New Moda Fabric collections have debuted and I’m loving them! I get so excited every time I hear that new Moda lines are dropping. One of my favorite things to do is look through the new Moda “Piece” catalog to check out all the goodies and then head to all the amazing designers' social media pages to see more. It’s such an adrenaline rush! I get so inspired by all the pretty things.

If you’ve been following Moda's release schedule like me, you always know new fabrics are about to debut–you just don't know which day. In previous months and years, I would get to the drawing board to come up with a new pattern using those beautiful soon-to-be-released fabrics. This time, instead of designing a new pattern, I decided it would be fun to mock up some of my previously released patterns with the new fabrics. It always amazes me how different a pattern can look by using different colors.

Because many of my older patterns use lines that are no longer available, it is always nice to see them in fabrics that you can get soon. Sometimes, they even look better. Now, I’m in trouble! I want to remake all my patterns in these new fabrics. Any takers? I’m excited to show you my mockups. Keep reading below to be inspired and find a special coupon to use on these patterns.

While I love all the new Moda collections, I tried to pick the collections that would work best with my patterns and look.

I am loving the new Strawberry and Lemonade fabrics from Sherri and Chelsi. These fresh pops of color are perfect for summer. The pinks, reds, blues, citrines, and greens have me wanting a freshly squeezed strawberry lemonade out by the pool. Oh, and don't get me started on those low volumes. Lately I have been addicted to low volumes–they make the perfect backgrounds. I adore this sweet collection and cannot wait for you to get your hands on it. I recolored my Daisy Chain, Glory Blooms, Garden Side, Along the Meadow, Rosewood, and Pastel Jardin patterns for inspiration.

Play with color in this version of Daisy Chain that celebrates the best of your summer garden’s hues. The subtle print in the background gives interest to the space between flowers.

Go retro with vibrant colors like pinks, oranges, and teals featured in bold blooms that burst across this version of Glory Blooms.

Sweet florals and ditzy prints highlight the feminine flowers featured in this version of Garden Side.

The flowers in this version of Along the Meadow provide space to feature a variety of colors and prints – all tied together with a white background and green leaves.

Highlight a variety of reds, pinks, and peaches in this version of Rosewood. Checkered prints make this quilt picnic-perfect.

A variety of greens and yellows add texture to this version of Pastel Jardin, while allowing the bright flowers to pop against the leaves.

The fabric requirements for each of the patterns above can be found on the back cover of the patterns.

Doesn’t Vanessa of Lella Boutique design amazing seasonal lines? Just when I thought I couldn't get enough of her Christmas lines, she releases a patriotic line and I absolutely love it! Although red, white, and blue, and gray are not typically colors I use in my quilts, I have a love for patriotic quilts. There's just something special about red, white, and blue quilts that makes my heart flutter. I’m definitely adding this fabric collection to my stash. The shades in this collection are spot on and have a vintage vibe, which I love! They feel weathered and classic. One thing I really love about this collection is that you don’t have to make a traditionally patriotic quilt–you could make a beautiful floral quilt using these fabrics. I recolored my Daisy Chain, Glory Blooms, Garden Side, Along the Meadow, Rosewood, and Pastel Jardin patterns for inspiration.

Which ones are your favorite? Click the picture of the quilt to take you to the listing in my shop.

Rows of blue and red flowers give this version of Daisy Chain a subtle patriotic or nautical vibe.

Red, blue, and gray prints burst like fireworks off this version of Glory Blooms. Softer prints make this quilt livable all year long.

A multicolor star print at the center of each flower adds a little sparkle to this patriotic version of Garden Side.

Both large and small dots, stripes, florals, and more find their home in this playful version of Along the Meadow.

Small prints add texture to the flowers in this version of Rosewood. The red and white checkered center feels classic.

Using muted blues and deep reds in this version of Pastel Jardin gives the quilt sophisticated elegance.

The fabric requirements for each of the patterns above can be found on the back cover of the patterns.

Don’t worry, this allows you to plan your precious projects, so you are ready to go when the fabric ships. Even though the fabric is delayed, the patterns are available now in my shop.
