You’ll get a total of 9 spring themed center blocks, 1 granny square pattern, 1 finishing pattern with two options, and spring recipes. Spring just got a whole lot sweeter!

Important Info: This is a paid pattern that will be released each week. You must prepay for the entire QAL ahead of time with a one-time payment. This is a mystery QAL, and the only block revealed is the Week 1 block, Granny’s Butterfly. You will receive an email every Monday from March 10th through May 19th with a notification that the weekly block and recipe is available for you to download in the Main Hub. You will be given the granny square block pattern and info in Week 1 if you would like to cut out all your fabrics for your granny square blocks at the start. The full QAL pattern will be available after the QAL is over if you missed it. I’m keeping this QAL simple. There will be no video tutorials, lives, or extra patterns with this QAL, but there may be a fun bonus pattern at the end for those that preorder the QAL.

Main Hub: Pattern Access

New for This QAL!

This year, we’re making things even easier! Instead of receiving your blocks via email each week, they will be uploaded to a Main Hub, which only you will have access to when you preorder the QAL Block Bundle. The Main Hub will be available even after the QAL is over.

No more worrying about lost emails or patterns landing in your spam folder—you’ll now have easy, organized access to everything in one place! I will still send you an email each week when your block is ready to download, but now you’ll have a dedicated hub for everything you need.

What’s Inside the Main Hub?

• Fabric Requirements

• Granny Square Block Pattern

• Weekly Block Patterns

• Weekly Recipe

• Anything Else I Share With You!

How to Access the Main Hub:

Upon purchasing your QAL Block Bundle, you will receive an order confirmation email with a download link. This download will include your Granny Square Block Pattern and detailed instructions on how to access the Main Hub.

Additionally, you’ll be added to an exclusive email group just for participants. Every week, you’ll receive an email with a direct link to the Main Hub, making it easy to access your patterns at any time. You can bookmark, save, or leave the Main Hub open for quick reference. Participants love having a Main Hub, and I know you will too!

Important Information:

✔ Ensure your email address is correct at checkout.

✔ You will receive an order confirmation email upon purchase. If you do not receive it, please email customerservice@mysewquiltylife.com.

✔ On March 3rd (or earlier), you will receive your first “Welcome to the QAL” email. If you do not receive it, please reach out to customerservice@mysewquiltylife.com immediately to ensure you are receiving your weekly emails correctly. This first email will also come with the Granny Square cutting and piecing instructions so you can get a head start on your blocks.

I’m so excited for this new QAL experience, and I can’t wait to sew with you!

Schedule:

We’re getting this QAL kicked off on March 10th, but you’ll have a few weeks to gather your materials. See the schedule below:

Listing: To sign up and preorder the Spring at Granny’s QAL pattern bundle, click the button below. Pre Order now to receive a special 15 % off discount. Once the QAL starts, the discount will end and only be available at full price, but you'll still be able to join the QAL.

  • Blocks will not be available individually. They will only come with the bundle.

  • If you can’t participate each week, I recommend purchasing the bundle and downloading the patterns so you can start whenever it’s convenient for you.

Fabric Requirements:

You’re welcome to use any fabrics you love for your quilt, but since this is a spring-themed QAL, sticking to bright, happy colors will create a quilt that truly captures the season. Choose colors that bring you joy!

My Fabric Dilemma – I Need Your Vote!

I haven’t fully decided which fabrics I’ll use for my quilt yet, and I thought it would be fun to let you help me decide! I’m torn between three collections, each offering a completely different feel, or I could pull from my stash. Oh, so many decisions! Vote below and help me choose!

Fabric Options:

🌿 Option 1: My Own Fabric – Cottage Charm

I originally planned to use my Cottage Charm collection (since it’s about to ship to shops!), but I’ve been sewing with it so much lately, and I already made a granny square quilt (Granny’s Hearts) with it. While it’s a beautiful collection, it’s also incredibly soft, and I worry the spring-themed blocks won’t stand out as much as I’d like.

🌸 Option 2: Fig Tree – Ella & Ollie

I recently rediscovered a Fat Quarter Bundle of one of my favorite Fig Tree Quilts collections, Ella & Ollie. It has been sitting on my shelf, just waiting to be made into something beautiful! While I love its bright and cheerful colors, I wonder if it might be too bright for this quilt. On the plus side, it could work beautifully throughout summer too!

🌼 Option 3: Tilda – Creating Memories Spring

I have absolutely adored Tilda’s Creating Memories collection and have been waiting for the perfect quilt to use it in. The spring collection is filled with dainty florals (my favorite!) and gorgeous textures. Since the Fat Quarter Bundle only includes 16 FQs, I could pair it with some Tilda Chambray for contrast. My only hesitation? The small-scale prints might not work as well as I’d like in the granny square blocks. This is the collection I am leaning towards using!

🌷 Option 4: Pull from My Stash

Lately, I’ve been having so much fun pulling fabrics from my stash for the 2025 Year of Sewing Machines BOM—maybe I should do the same here! I’m sure I could put together a beautiful mix of prints and colors that would bring all the spring vibes.

Can you see my predicament?! Help me out by voting below! 🎉

Blocks:

Each week, you will receive a spring-themed block to sew into your granny square blocks. Think birds, flowers, bunnies, garden tools, watering cans, and more! Every block is traditionally machine-pieced—no paper piecing or appliqué will be used in this quilt.

The smallest unfinished piece in the blocks is 1”, but not all blocks contain pieces this small. The blocks are a mystery, meaning you won’t know what each one looks like ahead of time—except for the Week 1 block: Granny’s Butterfly.

The blocks in this QAL will be larger than those in Christmas at Granny’s. This allows for a slightly different look and gives me the opportunity to add a bit more detail to each weekly themed block.

See Week 1 block below:

The block was mocked up in Cottage Charm, Ella & Ollie, and Creating Memories Spring.

Quilt Layouts:

This time, the finishing pattern will include instructions for adding a border or leaving it off. I haven’t decided yet which option I’ll choose—I’m not sure I need a larger quilt, and I actually love the modern look of the quilt without a border. See the options below:

As always, I’m a little indecisive! But I wanted to make sure to include a border option, knowing that many of you prefer having one. If I do decide to leave the border off, I think a scrappy binding would be a fun touch—I just love a scrappy binding!

Spring Recipes:

Did I mention you’ll also be getting some delicious spring recipes? Think cakes, cupcakes, and all your favorite spring desserts—maybe even some refreshing drink recipes too!

Everyone loved the cookie recipes we shared during Christmas at Granny’s, so I knew I had to bring back something yummy for this QAL! Starting in Week 1, you’ll receive a fun spring recipe along with each block pattern (9 weeks).

Now, I have to be honest—I did not create these recipes from scratch (I don’t bake or cook much; I’m definitely a better quilter than a chef!). But I hope you enjoy making them just as much as you enjoy stitching up your blocks!

Giveaway:

There will be a few fun giveaways during the final week of the QAL for those who participate! Be sure to share your blocks and quilts throughout the QAL and during the final week using #SpringAtGrannysQAL on Instagram and Facebook for a chance to win.

I will randomly select winners from both Instagram and facebook from the hashtag. Be sure to include the hashtag in your posts. Also tag me @mysewquiltylife so I can see it and for a chance to be featured in my stories!

If your instagram page is private, I will not be able to see your blocks.

Giving Back:

At My Sew Quilty Life, one of our greatest joys is giving back. We use our talents to create beautiful quilting products while supporting charities and organizations that make a real difference. Quilting has impacted my life in more ways than I can count, and I love using this community to bring hope and support to others. From the sales of the Christmas at Granny's QAL we donated $1000.00 to the Calvary Home for Christmas presents for the children.

I am proud to announce that the Spring at Granny’s QAL will help sponsor several children in foster care through the Calvary Home for Children. They are currently building new homes to provide a safe and loving environment for more foster children. To make this possible, they are in need of building supplies, as well as monetary and other donations throughout the year.

I’ll be reaching out to see what their most urgent needs are, and through Spring at Granny’s, I hope we can help take care of them. God will provide—He always does!

A portion of all profits from this QAL will go directly to Calvary Home for Children to support their needs. Individually, our contributions can only go so far, but together, we can make a huge impact in the lives of these children.

Thank you for your support and for helping make a difference—you truly are the best!

Now, let’s get ready to have some fun with Spring at Granny’s!
